Justice & Civil Rights (JCR)
Lawyers, legal defense organizations, public safety & law enforcement, police, civil rights, education foundations, immigrants advocacy, and all related policy organizations, agencies & programs, etc. (not-for-profit only except for lawyers)
Business & Commerce (B&C)
Hispanic-owned businesses, Hispanic business leaders, jobs, job placement services, businessperson networking, Hispanic chambers of commerce, workforce development, and all related policy organizations, agencies & programs, etc. (for profit and not-for-profit)
Culture & The Arts (C&A)
Music, food, dance, visual & performing arts, language, national origin & diversity, and all related policy organizations, agencies & programs, etc. (not-for-profit except for performers)
Health & Safety (H&S)
Health & health care, doctors, nurses, hospitals, fire & fire safety, housing issues, home ownership, homeowner education, and all related policy organizations, agencies & programs, etc. (not-for-profit except for doctors & clinics)
Labor & Workforce Development (LWD)
Labor rights & safety, workforce, worker training, unions and labor advocacy, and all related policy organizations, agencies & programs, etc. (not-for-profit only)
Policy & Leadership (P&L)
Latino Affairs Commissions (State, local, other states), public policy organizations (broad-based – no single issue area), leadership development organizations, boardsmanship training programs, networking groups, etc. (not-for-profit only)
Media & Communications (M&C)
Hispanic owned print & broadcast media outlets (radio, television, newspaper, internet, newsletters, magazines, other journals and periodicals, etc.) Spanish-language media, or Latino-market serving media (for profit and not-for-profit)

OLAnet Guidelines
The Community Alliances listed above are categories to foster greater collaboration between agencies, organizations, community members, and others dedicated to service in a specific area of community need. This list, a part of the OLAnet Community Alliance Framework, is a component which allows the OLAnet Database to categorize news, events, organizations, and other entries according to the category which best fits.
Any individual, organization, agency, or business must fulfill one of the following requirements to be in the OLAnet Database.
- Hispanic-owned or Hispanic-operated
- Latino community as a primary or exclusive focus
- Mission statement includes specific service to Hispanic Ohioans
- Engaged in an initiative to increase capacity to better serve the Latino community
- Not-for-profit (except where noted)

Users of the OCHLA website and the OLAnet Database can subscribe to receive weekly notices about news and events related to any or many of the Community Alliances which are of interest. This service is provided at no charge by the Ohio Commission on Hispanic/Latino Affairs.
