Mission Statement:
Huckleberry House was established in 1970 to provide a safe place for runaway youth in Columbus. Today, we provide many programs to help teens all over Franklin County who are in crisis situations, homeless or runaways. Its mission is “Reaching young people and their families to build stronger lives.”

Description of Services:
The Crisis Program has two components: a 24 hour crisis hotline (614-294-5553) and a shelter open 24 hours a day, every day of the week. Crisis counselors are here to help youth come up with a safe plan for dealing with their problems. We also talk to parents who have questions or concerns about their teens. At the shelter, licensed and dedicated crisis counselors work with youth and their families to provide crisis intervention, while developing a plan for reconciliation. The average length of stay is three to five days. The shelter also provides the following programs: family support, youth outreach, transitional living, and the national Project Safe Place.
