Mission Statement:
Since 1989, Hispanic UMADAOP has existed to empower the Hispanic/Latino community to reduce the negative impacts of HIV/AIDS, violence, and abuse of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs through culturally sensitive, holistic prevention, education, intervention, treatment, and re-entry programs.

Description of Services:

Our service delivery includes both Prevention and Treatment programs.  Our prevention programs have long standing collaborations with Cleveland Metropolitan School District and Northeast Pre-Release Center.  Within Cleveland Metropolitan School District, we provide evidence-based prevention and education services to high school, middle school, and elementary school children, families and teachers.

Within the Northeast Pre-Release Center, we provide alcohol, tobacco, other drugs, child abuse and neglect prevention and education services to incarcerated women.  The outcomes for this intervention are to improve self-esteem, cooping behaviors related to drug addiction and decision-making skills and to reduce the incidence of violence.

Our bilingual/bicultural treatment program consists of individualized residential recovery services for adult males and females.  The residential unit contains nine (9) beds for males and six (6) beds for females.  Residents receive a full-a ray of recovery services:  assessment, case management, group/individual counseling, outpatient/intensive outpatient, urinalysis and room/board.

Through the UMADAOP Youth Center, a community-based drug prevention and youth leadership facility, young people focus on academic tutoring, supportive mentoring, positive peer relationships, and alternative activities encouraging lifestyles free from alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs.  The outcomes are to decrease alcohol/drug use, reduce behaviors related to risk factors, increase alcohol/drug resistant skills, and improve academic achievement.
